One thing I'm sure is you will have to start the game from scratch. Using the same name is a different matter, I guess if you delete your original toon, you may be able to use the same name, but I'm really not sure, never tried it.
If you create a new toon, it would be useless if he has access to all places your main toon has unlocked. The new one has to get his skill, experience points from quests and everything... |

So your telling me its pointless to have a lowe level toon with 80-85 armor?I've had a level 7 in droknars forge, so the above statement isnt true.

You didn't understand what I meant. If you have a toon who has finished the game, it would be pointless that the fire island was unlocked to your new toon, you still have to fight your way to go there.
Having someone to rush you to Droknar's may give you an advantage throughout the missions because your armor level is really high, that's not useless and that's not what I said. |

It seems we are quite a bunch browsing the forums and answering.. I am wondering where are you guys at the moment ? Work, home, browsing forum and playing the game, school, around the pool with a laptop (would be my choice if A) i have a laptop, B) having a pool and C) not being at work...)?
I'm a software developer and the soft on which I work take few minutes to compile.. so in the free time, I help people.. or flame some too |

For every new character you create, they begin life at the start of the game, but the other current character(s) on your same account remain unaffected. For example, you can create your first character and take them to Post-Searing, then create a new character and leave them in Pre-Searing - your first character remains unaffected in Post. Most players have at least two characters (I have eight across two accounts), and use their Post-Searing characters to stock up on better arms and armor for when they bring their newer ones to the Post-Searing world.
You can re-use names for any character you delete from your account. I believe the devs have any names you use reserved for your account for 60 days after you delete a character so no one else has access to that name for that period of time in case you wish to re-use it. This might be a carry-over from the beta events, though. I actually haven't tried using the same name from one account on the other, but will try next time just to see what happens. No, your armor is customized at your toon.. even if it has the same name, I doubt it will work

I've never tested this, but I doubt it. The server most likely recognizes characters by character ID, not name, so if you recreated a character, it will have a higher ID and therefore not be recognized as the same character (I've done coding for many MMOG/MUD's and they all keep a database like this, so I'm assuming GW's is the same, though I cannot confirm this.)
By the way, later on in the game, you can change your secondary profession at will. |

As for transferring stuff between keys. I know that will not work. I believe each account reserves any character names used on that account for 60 days after the characters are deleted. If that's the case, you won't even be able to create a character with the same name on your new account. Even if you could, the transfer won't work, just like it won't work with the PvP only created armor for a PvE character with the same name. I read somewhere on these boards that a character of the same name and primary class of the deleted character can use the deleted character's armor. Someone tested this and it worked for them.
